It's a special Friday edition. That's because I wanted to take a couple of extra days to wrap up a new feature that I think you'll like...

👉 The WordPress Hosting page that .org/hosting should be.

That's right, The WP World has added a hosting page, complete with community-driven reviews and no "pay-to-play" incentives. All eligible hosts can be listed for free, and eligibility is based on two community-proposed rubrics for the .org hosting page.

And who decides the best hosting choices? You do! ⭐

Questions and Answers

ℹ️ Why create a hosting page that competes with the official hosting recommendations for the WordPress project?

Well, the long-term goal is that it doesn't. Given the lack of transparency around the official hosting page, I wanted to create a page that would take away the bias and provide recommendations for the community, by the community. Ultimately, I'd love to see the .org hosting page revamped to be the resource the community wants/needs and for this page to go away.

ℹ️ How do the hosting companies feel about this?

I've already shared this with over half a dozen of the hosts listed and it has been well-received! Turns out, WordPress hosting companies by-and-large want what's best for the community. ❤️

ℹ️ My host is eligible, but not on the list OR my host is on the list with inaccurate information...

That could definitely be the case. If so, please let me know so I can get it added/fixed! You can fill out the contact form on the website.
