When we think about creating a web project as developers, we start thinking about many things: design, SEO, performance, photography, clean code… But nobody thinks about accessibility.

Vulnerabilities in WordPress, the Bermuda Triangle
A hacked WordPress site does not get infected out of thin air. There must be an existing vulnerability that can be exploited, just as a ship does not sink with no reason.
This talk is intended to be a deep dive into the complexities of WordPress security, using real-life examples to illustrate the the lifecycle of vulnerabilities and what we can do to prevent them. Our goal is to avoid falling into a ‘Bermuda Triangle’ of security threats, ensuring that our digital ‘ship’ continues its journey safely.

Z.B. Accessibility ist Technik, nicht Design. Oder Accessible design is ugly design. Was ist denn nun die beste, most accessible Schrift?

Intro to the HTML API: Reliable, safe, and convenient [EN]
The HTML API in WordPress is redefining how developers create, find, and modify HTML. It eliminates the never-ending hassle of half-baked or over-complicated regex matching code while providing a safe and convenient interface.
This workshop will introduce the HTML API and demonstrate how to use it in common situations. We’ll work in groups to refactor existing code and explore what the new API offers, where it’s strong, and what its limits are.
The content in this workshop is relevant to anyone working with HTML, whether in block code, site editing code, plugins, theme development, or WordPress itself. Use of the new HTML API will categorically eliminate some of the most common security and data corruption issues within WordPress.
