The WP World is now in your pocket.

The WP World App Is Here. Take the Community With You.

August 14, 2026

The WP World now has an iOS app, and it is finally in the App Store. 🎉

I built The WP World because WordPress is better when it feels like a community, not just a list of names, Slack messages, and calendar holds. We meet at WordCamps, swap ideas in passing, and sometimes realize too late that a friend was in the same city all along. The new app makes those connections easier to keep close.

It is free for iPhone and iPad, and it puts the people and events that make up The WP World in your pocket.

Find your people before the hallway track does it for you

Open the Presser directory to browse the people behind WordPress, search by name or WordPress.org username, and get a better sense of who is in the community. The Nearby view gives approximate distances (of where Pressers live, not live locations) without exposing anyone’s precise location.

It is a useful nudge toward saying hello, without making anyone give up their privacy to participate.

Know what is happening next

The Events tab brings upcoming WordCamps, Campus Connect events, and related side events into one clear place. Search the gatherings that matter to you, open an event for the details, and move from “I should probably look that up” to an actual plan.

Stay in the conversation

You can browse Pressers and events without an account. Sign in when you want the more personal parts of The WP World: friends, friend requests, Messenger, and push notifications for the conversations you do not want to miss. One-to-one messages can also use optional translation in your preferred language.

A community app, not another feed to keep up with

This first release is intentionally focused. It is for finding people, spotting the next gathering, and keeping a good conversation going after everyone heads home. That is the part of WordPress I want to make easier: the connections that do not fit neatly into a conference schedule.

I am excited to get it into your hands, learn what works, and keep building it around the way this community actually shows up for each other.
