The WordPress Jinja Community is proud to host the first WordPress Campus Connect in Eastern Uganda and the first and largest on the African continent. Taking place from 1st October 2025 to 10th February 2026 this four month-long series will engage twelve campuses and schools across Jinja, Iganga, and surrounding towns, marking a historic milestone for WordPress adoption in the region.
For years, our local meetup community has actively engaged students at schools in our regions at all our events and through meetups, outreaches, training sessions, and workshops, making them key stakeholders in our journey alongside developers, educators, and creatives. This event is the next step in deepening that commitment, offering a platform where students can learn, connect, and lead within the global WordPress ecosystem.
What to Expect:
📚 Campus-based activations with talks, workshops, and interactive sessions tailored to students.
💻 Hands-on training in WordPress website design, blogging, and digital creativity.
🤝 Networking and mentorship opportunities with developers, designers, and community leaders.
🚀 Follow-up outreach meetups to keep building participation and clubs beyond the event.
By starting with Jinja, Iganga and expanding throughout the region, WP Campus Connect will set a benchmark for how students, developers, and creatives can collaborate to grow WordPress adoption and education across Africa.
Join us as we make history together, building an inclusive, student-powered, and creative WordPress movement in Eastern Uganda and beyond.
