I’d like to share my story from early beginnings to where I am now. How I went from a struggling student of the Technical University in Novi Sad to Managed Services WordPress expert. My goal is to support others in their efforts to make a career switch and endure all the troubles that go with it.

The goal of this lecture is to introduce the conversion story to the participants in a clear and coherent manner and apply techniques that will enable them to optimize their WP site and thus improve their business or business of their clients.

It is significant for all developers who have no knowledge of digital marketing, as well as for all of those who come from the IT world and want to adopt things that can be applied every day in the industry, whether they do design, development, or any segment of digital marketing.

Although the subject of this lecture is closer to the field of digital marketing, it nevertheless deals with the use of WordPress conversion optimization methods and the challenges encountered during optimization.

I would like to share my story as I managed to make a career change in a short time. I opened up a company and what is crucial, I accelerated and optimally improved all my processes using WordPress.

I would like to give pointers on how to and where to learn about WordPress and all my experiences on that topic. No matter if you are a freelancer, a company, or doing dropshipping, you can achieve a lot with WordPress.

When an online store is completed, the job is not over yet – it has just begun!

In addition to the explanation of what follows after the launch of the store, I will also be telling stories about important elements of ecommerce sites UX, Content, Legal, SEO and Digital Marketing. I will focus and this lecture on business, marketing, ecommerce, and SEO, not the actual development of the store.

Storytelling, from fairy tales to content. A story about how to tell stories (primarily on the site, and in any other creative task – from a regular flyer or banner to branding companies, products or communities) verbally and visually. Why it is important to gain the sympathy of end-users toward a brand or client towards you and what kind of benefits (even) developers can have from this approach. We will come to terms with the dilemma: writing for SEO or for visitors and why not. Goodies will be examples of good practice, but also bad (#fail).

CSP is a header that is part of the HTTP response that the web site sends to the user and defines a set of rules for browsers and determines where the web site can load content (images, scripts, styles …) and which content is allowed to execute. Correctly set CSP protects users and data from XSS (cross-site scripting) types of attacks and data modification that are presented to the user. The CSP specification includes reports that search engines generate and which contain information on CSP offenses.

The lecture describes the basics of CSP including suggestions for correctly adjusting a large number of rules that the CSP can contain, as well as WordPress specificity with a special emphasis on constraints (especially for JavaScript that is part of HTML content) and different implementation approaches. In addition, a few minutes will be dedicated to additional HTTP headers related to security.

For this lecture, I created a free (GPL) plugin that is located on WordPress.org: https://wordpress.org/plugins/gd-security-headers/ and which allows setting up CSPs as well as several other HTTP headers to which the security of the website and users increases. The plugin can also receive reports generated by CSP search engines.

Nine years ago, I launched the Wellness-spa.com website on the WordPress platform. The idea was to promote wellness and spa hotels. Every hotel I started cooperating with got its landing page on the site. The business models then changed from classic advertising to mediation, also known as dropshipping services, connecting guests and hotels. Some code corrections have been created on WordPress. I can present that as an addition to the story, which is primarily business and marketing oriented.

We live in a world of loud, charismatic people, where the introvert is seen as a disaster. But does it really have to be that way? We will talk about what it means to be an introvert and how to use introversion to be more productive and happier.

The lecture is conceived as a guideline for the way to communicate with clients, as well as to just ease it. He will go through examples, from both personal and the experiences of others.

“DevOPS, SysOPS, virtualization, containerization, orchestration, automation”. All these terms are heard daily, but we may not fully understand them. Did you know that the “lifting” of the containers is sometimes 100 times less than the virtual machine? Or that the dock container uses as much memory as you allow, so there will be no problem with maximum utilization.

In this short lecture, Nemanja will talk about the differences between the doc and the virtual machine and what is needed to start using the doc. He will also talk about how the Doctor can improve the day-to-day work of the developer, but also speed up the time for the release of the changes. The lecture will be both theoretical and practical, through the console code itself. How to start a dock, download a “picture” of a container, how to pick up the first container, set up a WordPress container, and how to shorten the whole process using the docker-compose.

WordPress is powering a large portion of the web today, due to its simplicity and ease of use. It has one of the biggest ecosystems with a lot of themes and plugins available. It simple and intuitive interface is allowing you to setup it in the minutes, which sometimes can cause performance issues. In this presentation, we’ll learn how we can test our WordPress websites with webpage test tool and find out from what performance gotchas our website is suffering.

I am a WordPress power user for almost 10 years since I first learned about WordPress. I have given and taken a lot to become an active part of the Community and to build my name across it. Based on my non-developer experience I will speak about how everyone could work with WordPress and Contribute to it.

How to become an active part of the Community and help users solve their WordPress related challenges. Why WordPress and the Community have the power to enhance your life and help you in a difficult time? How to grow as a power user? And why working with WordPress and people from the Community could be a real pleasure?

WordPress security is not only in the hands of the developers but is a shared responsibility model between hosting, themes/plugins developers, and site administrators. Let’s see how we can apply the principles of “Security by Design” to WordPress, level-up the security of our websites and minimize the risk of hacking.

A lecture on a real engterprise builds a WordPress-based project. The story of the current situation after the previous dev team was thrown out of the project, the bundles of inherited problems and how we from a completely dysfunctional pile of code in three years managed to build something in which clients have a lot of trusts and use every day for business purposes (and something that is after the audit by the company’s eminent, received very positive assessments).

Inclusivity over diversity and equity over equality. The deeper understanding of needs and the way that our community should treat marginalized groups and what WordPress community can do to improve inclusion. How to make marginalized groups feel safe and secure in our conferences and not just safe but WELCOME.

In this talk, Mitko will speak about how you can leverage the WordPress REST API to build awesome websites, using React.js for rendering the frontend outside the WordPress Theme implementation, by using processor class inside the Reactj.js that will handle all the layouts that your website need.
