A Small Call for Sponsors Who Care About the WordPress Community

June 15, 2026

I’m opening up a small number of new sponsor spots for The WP World, and I wanted to share a little more openly about what that means, who it’s for, and why it matters.

The WP World has always been a community-first project. It was built to help WordPress people find each other, follow events, discover contributors, connect with organizers and speakers, explore local WordCamp guides, and see more of the people and companies that make this ecosystem what it is.

Sponsorship here is not just buying a logo placement. It’s a way to help keep a useful WordPress community resource alive, improving, and available to the people who rely on it.

Who The WP World reaches

The WP World now includes more than 2,100 individual WordPress community profiles, along with event listings, WordCamp pages, local guides, recap content, business listings, and community connection features.

Over the last 60 days (mid-April to mid-June 2026), the site has seen 9,500+ visitors, 17,500+ views, and over 12,000 sessions, with an average session duration of 13 minutes and 37 seconds. That works out to roughly 4.8k visitors, 8.7k views, and 6k sessions per month.

The newsletter currently has 1,080 subscribers, with a 51% open rate and 6.24% click rate (always-live stats here). As the newsletter becomes more regular again in the second half of the year, blog content will also be repurposed there, giving sponsors more ongoing visibility beyond the website itself.

Most importantly, this is a very specific audience: freelancers, agency owners, developers, designers, plugin builders, product companies, hosts, contributors, organizers, speakers, attendees, and people actively building, managing, selling, and recommending WordPress products and services.

What sponsorship helps support

Sponsors have helped make it possible to keep expanding The WP World beyond a simple directory. That support has contributed to projects and features like Unleash the Wapuu, the first WordPress-themed card game, achievements and sitewide gamification, the Event Recap hub, interactive event maps, TWPW Messenger with auto-translation, local attraction guides for WordCamps, the weekly community newsletter, an AI-powered image alt text tool, and ongoing improvements to profiles, events, maps, guides, and tools.

Some of those projects are practical. Some are playful. All of them are aimed at the same thing: making the WordPress community easier to explore, support, and connect with.

What sponsors receive

Sponsors receive visibility across The WP World site and are included on the Sponsors page. They may also be recognized in community updates, appear in relevant blog content as sponsor logos are added, and receive opportunities for useful, community-focused content that can help the WordPress audience learn from the companies serving it.

Sponsorship is also evolving beyond passive logo placement. Sponsors who also sponsor WordCamps are now listed prominently at the top of those WordCamp event pages, creating stronger event-related visibility where the community is already looking. Sponsors also receive 20% off newsletter advertising, including potential full-email options for more focused promotion.

The honest ROI

I don’t want to pretend every community sponsorship creates clean, direct attribution. The WP World is not being positioned as a guaranteed lead-generation machine.

The value is visibility, goodwill, credibility, and connection with a focused WordPress audience. If your company sells to the WordPress community, hires from it, partners within it, sponsors its events, or benefits from its continued health, supporting that community has real business value.

An engaged ecosystem to sell to, hire from, learn from, and build with is part of the return. Sponsorship is a way to be visibly aligned with that ecosystem while helping a resource built specifically for it continue to grow.

A limited opportunity

There are currently only 3 new sponsor spots available. Sponsorship is intentionally limited so visibility remains meaningful and the site does not become crowded with logos.

Select companies can currently sponsor The WP World for $999/year before the regular sponsorship rate moves to at least $1,999/year. Sponsorship is not always open, and I want the next few sponsors to be companies that genuinely care about the WordPress community and want to be visible within it for the right reasons.

If your company serves the WordPress community and wants to support a growing resource built for that community, I’d love to talk.

Thank you in advance from the whole WordPress community. ❤️
