This week, I made a few behind-the-scenes updates to the site—some performance and maintenance tweaks to keep things running smoothly, plus a couple of small visual changes you might notice. Nothing major, but little improvements here and there to make the experience better!

New Features and Updates
📐 Unit preference: So much of the (WP) world uses the metric system, so it seemed unfair to make you switch to kilometers every time you viewed a Presser or event page. Now, choose your preference in your profile settings and the pages will default to that unit!
🐦 Social share preview: When you share your Presser profile (or an event) on social media, Slack, or iMessages, a custom share card (or "open graph" image) is used. Now, you can get a peek at what your social share card looks like by clicking on your profile image on your Presser profile page.
🎙️ Speaker showcase: As the event pages continue to get incremental updates, this week the speakers area got a new look and, for those in the site, a bit of special treatment. Head over to an event to see the new speaker area.
⭐ Repeat events: Many of the events in WordPress happen year-after-year. It's a work in progress, but events that have predecessors now show their previous iterations at the bottom of the page! |
